U4GM - 8 Best Elden Ring Item Farming Spots with the Highest Drop Rates
In the world of Elden Ring, where every upgrade counts and powerful gear can make or break your build, knowing where to farm the most valuable Elden Ring Items can save you hours of frustration. Whether you’re farming for upgrade materials, rare weapons, or consumables, some spots simply outperform others in terms of drop rate and efficiency.
Having spent hundreds of hours exploring every inch of the Lands Between, I’ve discovered the most rewarding locations for loot grinding. Here are eight farming spots I consistently return to, especially when preparing for NG+ or PvP battles.
1. Mohgwyn Palace – Albinauric Blood Farm
Possibly the most infamous farming location in the game, this area becomes accessible after progressing through White-Faced Varre’s questline or using the Pureblood Knight’s Medal. The Albinaurics here offer exceptional rune gain, but they also drop rare materials and items with surprisingly high frequency.
I’ve personally used this spot to farm for upgrade stones and rare consumables like Rune Arcs. It's incredibly efficient when paired with a Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot or Silver Scarab.
2. Windmill Village – Celebrants’ Drops
Windmill Village is home to the dancing Celebrants, who drop a wide variety of rare weapons, including the Celebrant’s Skull and Sickle. Their drop rates are decent, and since they are low-threat enemies, it's a great place to farm early to mid-game.
I farmed here to complete my collection of strange and obscure weapons. It also served as a consistent source of crafting materials like Miranda Powder.
3. Moghwyn Dynasty Mausoleum – Red Albinaurics
These foes are tougher than the standard Albinaurics, but they drop high-tier items including Ghost Gloveworts and even Somber upgrade materials. Farming here is excellent for upgrading spirit ashes to the max.
I found this spot extremely helpful during my Mimic Tear build phase, allowing me to enhance spirits without scouring every catacomb.
4. Raya Lucaria Academy – Sorcerers and Knights
A great spot for farming Glintstone Sorceries and Carian Knight gear. Enemies here have modest drop rates but are tightly packed, making efficient runs possible. Use a Silver Scarab and focus on Sorcerers for staff drops and Knights for armor.
When I ran a full Intelligence-based mage build, this location gave me everything I needed—both aesthetically and functionally.
5. Haligtree – Haligtree Knights and Cleanrot Knights
Miquella’s Haligtree is brutal, but the rewards are well worth it. Enemies here drop endgame gear and crafting items. Cleanrot Knights in particular drop Cleanrot gear, which has excellent defensive stats.
The Haligtree also gave me some of the best results when looking for endgame materials—though it definitely requires preparation and patience.
6. Caelid – Rotten Strays and Radahn Soldiers
Caelid is a rich yet dangerous area, filled with enemies that drop Scarlet Rot-inducing weapons and gear. Rotten Strays, for instance, can drop their unique fang weapons. This spot is ideal for farming status effect-based weapons.
This was one of my go-to areas when experimenting with a Rot build. The drop rates aren’t as high as some other zones, but the payoff is worth it for unique loot.
7. Leyndell – Royal Capital Soldiers
The soldiers here drop Banished Knight gear and royal-themed armaments. You can find multiple enemy types in a small radius, making it a high-yield area for farming both gear and crafting materials.
I farmed Leyndell extensively for smithing stones and to complete my heavy armor sets. It’s also where I gathered materials to upgrade colossal weapons.
8. Altus Plateau – Knights and Pages
The plateau is filled with knights that drop valuable weapons and armor sets. Pages, in particular, can drop the unique Page Set and crossbows. The Altus Tunnel also contains several smithing stones with a solid respawn route.
I’ve found this zone especially effective when looking for mid-tier materials before entering late-game zones. It’s also good for building up gear before facing bosses like Morgott.
Whether you're chasing a specific set or gathering upgrade materials for your dream build, these farming locations deliver consistent and rewarding results. If you're low on time or prefer focusing on combat rather than grinding, you might consider choosing to buy Elden Ring Items to accelerate your progress.
In my experience, combining smart farming with a solid route and item boost gear (like Silver Scarab or Fowl Foot) can maximize efficiency and make every farming session more productive. The Lands Between are rich with treasure—you just need to know where to look.
